InTouch Magazine included “Perry the Polar Bear Goes Green” in a feature about how to teach children about climate change in a way which makes sense to them. “By using picture story books, children have an opportunity to look at the world outside of their own limited experiences and engage with a range of geographical issues and places.” More at InTouch Magazine here.
Laois Libraries - Children's Book Festival
With over 30 readings booked for the month of October, it looks like it's going to be a busy month! I'll also be at Ballylinan, Stradbally and Portlaoise libraries on Friday, the 21st of October as part of the Book Festival, at 10.00, 11.30 and 13.45.
Children's Book Festival 2011 - Wexford
The Children's Book Festival will take place in October and Wexford County Council have kindly organised five readings at various libraries in Wexford on October 13th and 14th. I'll be at New Ross, Enniscorthy and Wexford Town libraries on Thursday the 13th, followed by Bunclody and Gorey on Friday, October 14th.
Kildare Events - October 25th & 26th
It's been a hectic, but very enjoyable month with 20 readings so far this month. And next week, I'm off to Kildare for six more readings. You'll catch me at Kildare Town Library at 9.30am, Naas Library at 11am and Newbridge at 1.45pm on the 25th. I'll also be at Celbridge at 9.30am, Maynooth at 11.15am and Leixlip at 1.15pm on the 26th. See you then:)
National Recycling Week
As part of National Recycling Week in October, I will be attending primary schools in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary in conjunction with the Environment Department of Tipperary County Council, to read from my eco books and to talk to the children about recycling and climate change.

I will be carrying out a series of readings from my eco-friendly books in a number of libraries around Co. Cork from November 30th, 2010. The readings are sponsored by the Environmental Awareness and Research section of Cork County Council. The next dates are Carrigaline, December 14th, Cobh, Dec. 15th and Fermoy Dec. 16th. All readings are at 11am.
